열왕기상 17:1~7

1. 1

   길르앗에 우거하는 자 중에 디셉 사람 엘리야가 아합에게 말하되 내가 섬기는 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께서 살아 계심을 두고 맹세하노니 내 말이 없으면 수 년 동안 비도 이슬도 있지 아니하리라 하니라

   Now Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, 'As the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word.'

   여호와의 말씀이 엘리야에게 임하여 이르시되

   Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah:

   너는 여기서 떠나 동쪽으로 가서 요단 앞 그릿 시냇가에 숨고

   'Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan.

4. 4

   그 시냇물을 마시라 내가 까마귀들에게 명령하여 거기서 너를 먹이게 하리라

   You will drink from the brook, and I have ordered the ravens to feed you there.'

5. 5

   그가 여호와의 말씀과 같이 하여 곧 가서 요단 앞 그릿 시냇가에 머물매

   So he did what the LORD had told him. He went to the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there.

6. 6

   까마귀들이 아침에도 떡과 고기를, 저녁에도 떡과 고기를 가져왔고 그가 시냇물을 마셨으나

   The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.

7. 7

   땅에 비가 내리지 아니하므로 얼마 후에 그 시내가 마르니라

   Some time later the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land.
